Finisar COO Accepts Demotion
Former president/COO Dick Woodrow, whose retirement had been announced, decides to stay on as senior VP of sales and marketing

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Finisar Corporation (NASDAQ: FNSR), a technology leader in gigabit fiber optic solutions for high-speed data networks, today reported that Dick Woodrow has decided to remain at Finisar in the position of Finisar's Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. On April 1, 2003, Finisar announced the retirement of Dick Woodrow who had served as Finisar's President and Chief Operating Officer from September 2002 to March 2003. Mr. Woodrow's retirement was scheduled to become effective on April 30, 2003. Mr. Woodrow joined Finisar as Director of Sales and Marketing -- Optics in June 1998 and served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, from November 2000 until August 2002.
