EM4 expansion brings high-tech manufacturing to Bedford, Mass.
September 2, 2004
BEDFORD, Mass. -- EM4, Inc., an emerging force in Optical Design and Manufacturing for integrated optics components, held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the formal opening of their facility in Bedford, Mass. Congressman Marty Meehan, the Ranking Democrat on the Congressional Subcommittee on Terrorism, Unconventional Threats and Capabilities, officiated over the ceremony.
The 30,000 square foot building, at 7 Oak Park Drive, includes a manufacturing clean room that is significantly larger than the former site, enabling EM4 to increase its optoelectronic and photonic component design and production accordingly. The need for a larger facility is driven by EM4's growing customer demand for not only custom design and manufacturing; but also for standard, off-the-shelf products.
"This move reflects an increasing traction for our innovative optoelectronic design and manufacturing," said Basil Garabet, CEO of EM4. "It is a testament to the continuing excellent work by the employees of EM4. This new facility will enable us to meet the growing need for optical components."
