LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. -- CyOptics, Inc., a multi-national corporation and a leading developer and manufacturer of Indium Phosphide (InP) optical engines for fiber optic communications, today announced the relocation of its headquarters operations from Waltham, MA to Lehigh Valley, PA.
In March 2003, CyOptics acquired the design, package technology and manufacturing assets of CENiX Inc., an industry leader in the robotic assembly and test of optoelectronic components located in Lehigh Valley, PA.
"This move consolidates our two North American facilities," said John Pilitsis, President and CEO of CyOptics, Inc. "With the acquisition of the CENiX asset we had the opportunity to streamline our infrastructure and operating costs, while locating our business in a geographical region that is rich with design and manufacturing resources. The State of Pennsylvania was very helpful in providing various financial incentives that enabled this move."
"Governor Rendell is committed to providing an environment where technology-based companies can thrive," Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Yablonsky said. "We are proud to welcome CyOptics to Pennsylvania. Their decision to relocate their headquarters to the Lehigh Valley not only brings new jobs to the Commonwealth, it helps to solidify Pennsylvania's position as a world technology leader by providing promising technology that will enable the future of optical communications."
