CONCORD, Mass. -- Crossbeam Systems, Inc. today unveiled its X40 Network Application Concentrator, the industry's first platform enabling large data centers to deploy network-based services at speeds from 400Mbps up to multi-gigabits per second, scaling to thousands of subscribers, with 99.999% availability. The X40 platform provides major price/performance advantages and represents a new class of product that reduces by an order of magnitude the number of servers and appliances required to deliver a wide range of high-value, network-based applications. Crossbeam's X40 platform will be on exhibit for the first time at NetWorld+Interop (Sept. 11-13) as part of the Check Point Software OPSEC Partner Pavilion (booth #1212). Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP) earlier this summer announced its selection of Crossbeam as a key platform partner in its subscriber VPN/security initiative. Crossbeam will announce additional partnerships targeting denial-of-service prevention, intrusion detection and content delivery on the X40 platform in the months ahead. Mitchell Hryckowian, principal architect, security and infrastructure at Interliant, noted "the ability to deliver multiple security services with high throughput all in one platform will be a key differentiator for hosting service providers. Crossbeam is delivering a true carrier-class platform providing critical security services." Crossbeam Systems Inc.
