MINNEAPOLIS -- ADC (Nasdaq:ADCT; www.adc.com) today announced the appointment of Stephen Mitchell as Vice President of National Accounts. In this role, Mitchell has overall responsibility for driving ADC's channel sales strategies, including channel development in North America. He will also have responsibility for several service provider accounts including Sprint and Alltel as well as ADC's government, original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and broadcast markets. Based in the company's Richardson, Texas, office, Mitchell reports to Jay Hilbert, ADC's senior vice president of Global Sales and Marketing. Mitchell has nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience with technology companies. Most recently, he served Marconi Communications as vice president of sales for major markets where he directed and managed sales to North American cable, wireless, OEMs, and enterprise customers. In his 10-year career at Marconi, Mitchell also served in sales leadership roles including vice president of access systems, vice president of strategic accounts, and vice president of emerging markets. He began his career at Norwalk, Conn.-based Burndy Corporation in 1984. "Market conditions of the last two years have meant drastic changes in how broadband service providers do business. ADC has responded well by focusing on distributor relationships geared toward furthering the reach of the company's extensive product lines," said Mitchell. "I look forward to expanding our relationships with channel partners even more and refining a program that generates revenues and results in win-win-win relationships for ADC, our customers and our channel partners."
