Wave7 announced the appointment of Lawrence “Larry” Huang to the Company’s Board of Directors

ATLANTA -- Wave7 Optics, Inc., a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home and -premises (FTTH/FTTP) optical broadband network equipment for residential and business services, today announced the appointment of Lawrence “Larry” Huang to the Company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Huang was a co-founder of Ciena Corporation, one of the industry pioneers in DWDM systems. His leadership helped transform Ciena in just a few years from a start-up into a multi-billion dollar publicly held company that scored impressive contract wins with carriers around the world. Prior to Ciena, he co-founded AT&T Tridom, a manufacturer of satellite communications systems.
Presently, Mr. Huang serves on the board of directors for Cygnet Private Bank and Legacy Trust. He is also a trustee of the Georgia Institute of Technology Foundation, chairman of the Georgia Institute of Technology Foundation Investment Committee and chairman of the Georgia Institute of Technology Business School Advisory Board. He also serves as a member of the advisory board for the Georgia Institute of Technology Center for Entrepreneurship and New Venture Development. In addition, Mr. Huang recently funded an endowed chair shared by the College of Management and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at “Georgia Tech.” The Lawrence P. Huang Chair in Engineering Entrepreneurship will aid in preparing students for leadership positions in technology application and management. Mr. Huang holds a BS in Industrial Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Georgia State University.
