Colombian fixed-line operator ETB has selected Ericsson's EDA-based broadband equipment

STOCKHOLM -- Colombian fixed-line operator ETB (Empresa de Telecomunicaciones de Bogotá), has selected Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) to supply its EDA-based high-performance broadband solution.
Ericsson's high-performance broadband solution enables ETB to offer high bandwidth and capacity for quality assurance in the delivery of ultra-high-speed Internet access, IPTV, IP telephony and gaming applications.
With the network solution designed around Ericsson's EDA platform, ETB is able to deliver bundled broadband services, such as data, voice and video simultaneously to enhance its broadband offerings.
Rafael Orduz, President of ETB, says: "With more than 7 million inhabitants, Bogota is facing strong demand for broadband access from business and residential customers. Ericsson's EDA solution has the ADSL2+ performance we need for our growing network, and its global expertise in broadband systems makes Ericsson a reliable partner."
