Bandwidth9 Names Manufacturing Chief

Paul Murphy was VP of WorldWide Wafer Manufacturing at National Semiconductor

FREMONT, Calif. -- Bandwidth9, Inc., a leader in flexible, reliable, and cost-effective optical components and subsystems, today announced the appointment of Paul Murphy as the company's vice president of manufacturing of the Components Division. Prior to joining Bandwidth9, Murphy served as vice president of worldwide wafer manufacturing at National Semiconductor (NYSE: NSM), a leading developer of information appliances. In his role at Bandwidth9, Murphy will oversee the high-volume manufacturing of Bandwidth9's core technology at the company's headquarters in Fremont, Calif. This area includes the fabrication, processing, and assembly of the company's tunable laser components. These components are then integrated into the company's MetroFlex(TM) tunable optical subsystem products at the company's second manufacturing facility in Duluth, Ga. "Paul Murphy brings to Bandwidth9 a wealth of experience successfully managing high-volume and highly automated component manufacturing," said Hatch Graham, chairman and CEO of Bandwidth9. "In addition, his proven success in interaction with multiple sites and hands-on experience in a high-tech environment are extremely valuable.
