TAIPEI -- Altima Communications, Inc., a wholly- owned subsidiary of Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM), the leading provider of integrated circuits enabling broadband communications, today announced the Altima(TM) AC1002, a single-chip fully integrated triple-speed Gigabit Ethernet adapter solution. The AC1002 is a 32-bit PCI Gigabit Ethernet controller with an integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps physical layer (PHY) transceiver that reduces cost, power, and network interface card (NIC) form factors, to help accelerate deployment of Gigabit Ethernet into Small to Medium Size Business (SMB) applications. The solution includes a comprehensive set of software and a manufacturing kit to accelerate time to market and reduce design complexity.
