WOBURN, Mass. -- Acme Packet(TM), a developer of session border controllers for service providers delivering interactive communications across IP network borders, today announced it has signed a distribution agreement with SC ComTex, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, SC ComTex, a leading Japanese network integrator, will supply Acme Packet's award-winning Net-Net(TM) family of session border controllers to the Japanese service provider market. This relationship with SC ComTex, the highly regarded systems integration unit of Sumitomo, expedites Acme Packet's entry into the fast growing Japanese IP communications market. For SC ComTex, the addition of Acme Packet's Net-Net family of products strengthens its next-generation IP networking portfolio and helps service providers deliver high performance for voice, video and multimedia sessions across any IP-IP network border such as those between service provider and customer/subscriber, or between two service providers.
