Qualcomm applauds wireless industries in South Korea and Japan for their role in deploying 3G CDMA2000 services for the World Cup

SAN DIEGO -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, applauds wireless service providers and equipment manufacturers in South Korea and Japan, co-hosts of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, on their leadership role in the deployment of third-generation (3G) CDMA2000 1X services. These markets will be a showcase for 3G devices, applications and services.
