Williams to obtain the fiber optic network, intellectual property, and Internet protocol capabilities of the ISP

TULSA, Okla. -- Williams Communications (NYSE: WCG - news), a leading broadband provider for bandwidth-centric customers, has signed an asset purchase agreement to obtain the fiber-optic network, intellectual property, and Internet protocol capabilities of CoreExpress, the first company to guarantee data communications across multiple Internet Service Providers. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Closing on the agreement is subject to satisfaction of final terms and certain conditions."Williams Communications is ideally positioned to integrate CoreExpress' award-winning technology and unique patented product set to offer advanced IP products delivering customers superior quality and security," said Matt Bross, chief technology officer for Williams Communications. "The CoreExpress network was built on our infrastructure with the most advanced equipment available.
