NEWBURY, U.K. -- Details of a new music service enabling subscribers to access music to suit their preferences, have been unveiled by Vodafone Group, a mobile communications company.

Vodafone Group has partnered with Sony NetServices, a network business solutions company, to offer the Vodafone Radio DJ Service, which will stream customised radio channels to the computers and 3G mobile phones of subscribers. Vodafone Group's customers can already access hundreds of thousands of songs from independent and major record labels.

The new service will enable subscribers to listen to unlimited music via their computer or mobile phone, for a monthly fee, and enable them to personalise radio channels by confirm a 'like' or 'dislike' for songs. If the 'dislike' button is selected, the music will move to the next song and the classification from Sony will ensure songs similar to the ones rejected are avoided in future.

The new service is to be introduced to France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and the UK to begin with and Vodafone Group plans to launch the service to more than 20 countries, worldwide, during the year.
