NEW YORK, NY & BUFFALO, NY -- Cheddar, the leading post cable networks company, and Synacor Inc. (Nasdaq: SYNC) today announced that subscribers of Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV will have full access to Cheddar’s live and on demand programming at no additional charge via the Cheddar web site, as well as mobile and TV apps.

The first platform for authenticating subscribers is Cheddar’s website with plans for its Connected TV and mobile apps in short order.

“All Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV subscribers can now login with their credentials and access our content, just like the traditional cable networks,” said Jon Steinberg, CEO of Cheddar. “We are always in base bundle, so this means all subscribers of these leading platforms can access us. This type of access is available to all our pay TV distributor partners as quickly as they give us the GO to make this available to their subscribers.”

Cheddar is tapping Synacor’s Cloud ID cloud-based identity management platform to speed authentication integrations with virtual MVPDs and MVPDs. Synacor’s identity platform enables content providers to authenticate against distributor billing systems as well as direct to consumer authentications, while offering security features like concurrency monitoring and device management to improve the customer experience.
