CONCORD, Ontario -- Consultronics offers the CoLT-450, the first test set of its kind to offer fast and convenient testing of Video over DSL testing in a battery powered handheld package. The CoLT-450 allows the installation and maintenance technicians of Service Providers to test and validate the quality of streaming MPEG-2/4 & WM9 Video as a part of their Triple Play offering. Furthermore, the CoLT-450 tests the actual ADSL, ADSL2, and ADSL2+ line rates, the offered Internet services, and VoIP. The testing does not require any external DSL modem, the set top box, or the TV and can be done from the NID outside the customer premise. This latest functionality establishes the CoLT-450 as one of the leading DSL Test Sets in America and a preferred test set for ADSL, ADSL2+, SHDSL, and VDSL testing.
The Video over DSL Test Suite option allows the CoLT-450 to display the video streaming rate and any MPEG2/4 or WM9 errors, IP packet loss, ADSL and ATM frame losses and errors for the previous 5 minutes using an on screen time reference marker. This is a crucial tool to determine the source and timing of faults. The Consultronics CoLT-450 once equipped with an ADSL/ ADSL2+ Modem module and “VDTS” package will aid the TelcoTV Service Provider identify issues effecting the video quality at the subscriber side of the service. The CoLT-450 will help assure superior picture quality and prevent picture freezing, loss of signal and pixelization.
