SHENZHEN, China -- ZTE Corporation ("ZTE") (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced the successful deployment of a green 3G network with China Unicom, based on environmentally-friendly and energy saving base stations.

ZTE's green 3G base station site relies on wind and solar energy for operation. Compared with traditional base stations, this green solution offers 100% energy-savings as it does not rely on electricity. It also offers a remote-control feature, meaning it does not require on-site manpower support, helping China Unicom lower its total cost of ownership (TCO).

The green 3G base station site is located between the mountains of the Great Meisha area of Shenzhen, China. This wind and solar energy-based, integrated solution can be deployed in varying outdoor conditions: the proportion of wind and solar-powered energy functions provide flexible configurations to cater to the needs of various outdoor environments. It offers high energy-conversion efficiency with a stable and reliable power supply. The system produces no emissions, noise or pollution, maximising environmental protection.

"We're pleased to work with China Unicom to unveil this 3G green base station site," said Mr. Xu Ming, Vice President of ZTE. "Its launch highlights our dedication to strong corporate social responsibility. We're committed to environmental protection and devote enormous resources to developing innovative green products. The debut of this green site is an exceptional illustration of ZTE's strong R&D capabilities. We'll continue to introduce more advanced and state-of-the-art green equipment to the market," added Mr. Xu.
