Tronic's Microsystems appoints Peter Pfluger as CEO; former CEO Stephane Renard takes on new role as executive chairman

GRENOBLE, France -- TRONIC'S Microsystems, a technology leader in the development and production of custom Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) devices for high-end applications, today announced that Peter Pfluger has joined the company as its chief executive officer (CEO). TRONIC'S Microsystems founding CEO, Stephane Renard, will step-up to serve as Executive Chairman. Pfluger, who was previously CEO of the Phonak Group and of the CSEM, brings a wealth of experience in operating both medical device and microelectronic companies, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of TRONIC'S MEMS businesses. According to Renard, Pfluger joins TRONIC'S at a pivotal time in the company's development. TRONIC'S is poised to embark on the next stage of its growth. Leveraging his management and operational experience, Pfluger will spearhead the day-to-day operations of TRONIC'S. He will also focus on building the business and operational infrastructure needed to drive the company forward. "Peter's strong background and domain knowledge of microtechnologies makes him well suited to lead the company and he has extensive experience in managing business growth," said Renard. "It has been very rewarding to lead this company through the initial phases of realizing our vision. Now, I am very pleased to have Peter leading our team forward to capitalize on those efforts." Before joining TRONIC'S, Pfluger held various senior executive positions. Most recently, he served during five years as CEO of the Phonak Group (Switzerland), which specialized in developing and producing cutting-edge hearing aid systems. There, he had overall corporate responsibilities for renewing the product portfolio, and creating structures and procedures to increase company size. Prior to this position, he had been during seven years the managing director of CSEM SA (Switzerland), a semi-private organization for engineering, applied R&D and custom product developments in the field of MEMS, microtechnologies and IC design.
