BOULDER, Colo. -- Intrado Inc. (NasdaqNM: TRDO), the nation's leading provider of solutions that manage and deliver mission-critical information for telecommunications providers, today announced that Western Wireless (NasdaqNM: WWCA) will be the initial customer for its new Position Determining Entity (PDE) service. Western Wireless has also signed a three-year contract for Intrado's Transaction Services for Phase I and Phase II wireless Enhanced 9-1-1 (E9-1-1), marking Intrado's twelfth Phase II customer win. Both the PDE and wireless E9-1-1 offerings are part of Intrado's IntelliVectorSM Network Transactions suite of services. Intrado's PDE service will help wireless providers locate the latitude and longitude of a wireless caller. This ability allows carriers to cost-effectively implement location-based wireless E9-1-1 while at the same time laying the groundwork for future commercial location-based services (LBS). "It was an easy decision to expand our relationship with Intrado since they have demonstrated expertise in emergency communications, superior technology and comprehensive solutions," said Eric Hertz, Chief Operating Officer, Western Wireless. "Intrado will help us stand by our commitment to provide our customers with effective and immediate access to emergency service wherever they are and meet future location-based needs." Intrado Inc.
