RESTON, Va. -- Transaction Network Services, Inc. (NYSE: TNS), a leading network and data communications provider for transaction-oriented applications, has partnered with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) market leader BroadSoft to provide its industry-leading Calling Name (CNAM) solution to service providers operating the BroadSoft BroadWorks VoIP application platform.

TNS, who has established itself as a preferred provider of CNAM technology to traditional carriers via its SS7 network, has now optimized this functionality for next-generation providers that offer services in the VoIP marketplace. By developing a CNAM server application that is compatible with the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) CNAM interface specified by BroadSoft, TNS can now offer its rich calling features via Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to BroadWorks clients.

TNS has demonstrated that it has the expertise to successfully adapt traditional SS7 services for VoIP service providers. With the VoIP market poised to reach $3.3 billion in service revenue by 2010, as forecast by The Yankee Group in January, TNS will continue to optimize and expand its portfolio of services for VoIP as the market grows and demands broader features and an enhanced user experience.

BroadSoft creates VoIP application software that allows fixed and mobile service providers to offer the most advanced calling features to their enterprise and residential customers. BroadSoft's global customers include BellSouth, Korea Telecom, Singtel, TDC, Telstra, T-Systems, and Verizon

"As an industry leading provider of SS7 solutions to service providers, TNS has now expanded accessibility to these services for VoIP," said Dan Lyman, Vice President of Sales Engineering and Product Management at TNS. "The continued success of VoIP technology relies on the addition of enhanced features and services such as Caller ID. The availability of our CNAM product to BroadSoft's VoIP customer base is the first step in a strategic and productive partnership. TNS expects to continue to grow revenues from its CNAM business by delivering these services in new ways to carriers in the VoIP space."
