FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany -- Hands-on future: T-Systems has opened its first Innovation Center in the Bavarian capital. On some 450 square meters in the Euroindustriepark in Munich, companies will now be able to test new information and telecommunications solutions in a realistic work environment. T-Systems wants this workshop to bring innovations alive. Customers can contribute their own ideas for the further development of solutions and tailor them to their own individual requirements. The Innovation Center's research partner is the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich.

"The Innovation Center allows us to get right up close to the needs of our corporate customers and adds to the existing hotbeds of future technology for Deutsche Telekom's consumers in Berlin and Bonn," said Reinhard Clemens, member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom and CEO of T Systems, on the opening of the center. "In Munich, our customers can see firsthand how they can further improve business processes with new ICT solutions."

Bavaria's State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Katja Hessel, said "The opening of the Innovation Center in Munich is further proof of the attractiveness of Bavaria for technology companies. The collaboration gives students at the Ludwig Maximilian University the opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. T-Systems in turn benefits from the ideas and perspectives of the next generation of scientists." In addition to the solutions that T-Systems brings to market maturity, LMU students develop existing solutions further. For this purpose, they have a separate workspace as a thinktank. 40 students already successfully completed two-week internships while the Innovation Center was being set up.
