Swisscom Extends Managed Services Deal

BERN, Switzerland -- Ascom, a leading Swiss internationally active provider of communications solutions, has decided to extend its IT outsourcing contract with Swisscom IT Services until mid 2013. Swisscom IT Services will continue to provide desktop services, messaging, SAP and hosting of other applications for Ascom in Switzerland. In addition, Swisscom IT Services will also manage the changeover from Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange/Sharepoint for Ascom.

The decisive factors for Ascom in deciding to extend the contract were the reliability and security of the services. "Swisscom IT Services is able to guarantee stable and efficient IT operations and the modernisation of our IT infrastructure. That was the key factor", Fritz Gantert, Head of Ascom Switzerland and General Manager of Ascom Security Communication, explains. Close cooperation is important to Swisscom IT Services.
