Launches an R&D center and training center in Jakarta

JAKARTA, Indonesia, -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications networks for operators around the world, launched its R&D centre and training centre in Jakarta today.

The new R&D centre is a wholly-owned unit of PT Huawei Tech Investment in Indonesia and it involves around 40 local experienced engineers at the beginning stage. The R&D centre will focus on developing customized application software design for Indonesia market. This will enable Huawei to develop services that will benefit its operator partners, especially in Content and Value –added services (VAS).

Huawei also established a state-of-the-art training centre in Jakarta. The training centre will have the next generation network equipments including NGN soft-switch, CDMA 1x and EVDO, core network, and access system. Both centres are located in Huawei Jakarta office.
