Redbus Interhouse announces a major partnership with GlobalTrust
October 18, 2005
LONDON -- Redbus Interhouse (Italy) SpA, the Italian division of Europe's most advanced, independent colocation and managed services provider, today announces a major partnership with GlobalTrust, the European Registration Authority that issues digital certificates for Entrust, a leading provider of global security solutions.
Under the agreement, GlobalTrust will work closely with Redbus Interhouse (Italy) SpA to deliver Entrust IdentityGuard, an easy-to-use strong authentication solution for Internet and enterprise applications, to companies of all sizes as a hosted or colocated solution. In doing so, the partnership will create the first IdentityGuard Secure Provider Authority Project in Europe.
Global Trust will house its hardware service platform within Redbus Interhouse's data centre in Milan, where all European Users of the Identity Guard Service will also be hosted, and will use the company's dedicated managed IP bandwidth. Redbus Interhouse Italy will designate GlobalTrust as its recommended service provider of the Identity Guard Service and GlobalTrust will appoint Redbus Interhouse Italy SpA as its European colocation provider of choice for the whole GlobalTrust organization in Europe.
GlobalTrust's mission is to make IdentityGuard an industry standard for second level password systems and thereby increase security through strong authentication, provide data protection and help in preventing identity theft. However, GlobalTrust realised that the combination of significant installation and deployment costs and complex integration would be too great a barrier to entry for the majority of SMEs, and decided that the way forward was to offer IdentityGuard as a more affordable hosted service.
GlobalTrust therefore sought a colocation service provider that would facilitate the development of a service platform in a high security environment with guaranteed power continuity and no denial of services. Recognising the outstanding security and connectivity capabilities of Redbus Interhouse, GlobalTrust chose Redbus Interhouse as its infrastructure partner.
"In order to ensure that our project as the first IdentityGuard Secure Provider Authority in Europe achieves a successful conclusion, it was crucial that we found an infrastructure provider of the highest calibre with proven experience of working with security providers. Redbus Interhouse was able to tick all the boxes and being colocation specialists with mirrored sites across Europe made them the obvious choice," comments Massimo Penco, President and CEO, GlobalTrust."
