Santel Networks expands into the European marketplace with sales office in Italy, to be led by Domenico Fumagalli

NEWARK, Calif. -- Santel Networks, a leading developer of high-speed PHY IC products for optical networks, is demonstrating its commitment to meeting the needs of the global marketplace by opening a European sales office in Vimercate, Italy and hiring Domenico Fumagalli, to lead its European operation.Santel is the developer of the first commercially available 10Gbps electronic dispersion compensator (EDC) with CDR-D. The European office will provide a centralized location to meet the customer service demands of telecom systems vendors and module manufacturers interested in Santel's EDC and future integrated circuit products. "The complexity of our business necessitates local support as well as strong, real time communication with our customers," said Stefan Braken-Guelke, Chief Executive Officer at Santel. "We are committed to providing all of the necessary resources to make the adoption of our products and technologies easy and productive for our European-based customers." The European regional sales office will be managed by Domenico Fumagalli. Fumagalli, who recently joined Santel as European Sales Director, is an industry veteran with a strong track record in telecommunications. Fumagalli will report to John Keating, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Santel Networks."We are impressed with Domenico's ability to develop key telecommunications accounts and create solid strategic partnerships with customers," said Keating. "We are counting on Domenico to develop our customer base in Europe, manage the local business and coordinate field support activities."Previously, Fumagalli worked at Multilink Technology Corp., Motorola Semiconductor Spa, and Hitachi Europe's Electronic Division.Santel Networks Inc.
