Add on service Broadband access outside major cities is tough to get even for those who can afford it. We have an infrastructure problem that this program could potentially address (as with land lines so many years ago).

Re: Add on service If the digital divide is to be bridged, then broadband access needs to be broadened to include the less privileged house holds. Otherwise even in 201x children of these households will not be digital natives.

On the FCC I wanted to throw out this idea when I caught on my readings recently in Government Executive.    The FTC commisioner talked about the disappearnce of the internet within five years within the context of creating the ultimate digital customer.  I wonder if that in fact is the answer.
