Optovia has named James Iuliano as the Company's new president and chief executive officer

ACTON, Mass. -- Optovia(TM) Corporation, a leading amplifier line systems company today announced that it has named James Iuliano as the Company's new president and chief executive officer. Harmeet Singh, Optovia's founding CEO, will remain an executive of company with responsibility to drive business relationships and be an active member of the company's board of directors. With customer traction well underway and its patented Hut Skip solution currently scheduled for installation in the networks of leading telecommunications carriers and cable system operators, this management change reflects the vitality of Optovia's growth.

Iuliano is a high technology veteran with over a decade's experience as CEO of both public and private companies. Prior to joining Optovia, Iuliano was president and chief executive officer of E Ink Corporation, where he led the company from start-up into commercialization, built a global presence, and secured strategic alliances with SONY, Philips Electronics, Toppan Printing and Lucent among others. Prior to E Ink, Iuliano was president and chief executive officer of Molecular Devices (NASDAQ:MDCC) which he led through a period of sustained growth and profitability, delivering 20 consecutive quarters of record revenues and profitability. At Molecular Devices, he was instrumental in orchestrating a highly successful and oversubscribed Initial Public Offering (IPO).

"My main responsibility is to lead the company through a significant growth phase and to secure our position as one of the major line systems suppliers in the optical transport market," said Iuliano.
