BTI fills out executive team to drive optical edge growth

OTTAWA -- BTI Photonic Systems, a global supplier of Optical Edge microWDM networking solutions for the delivery of gigabit services, today announced that it has grown its executive team with a number of appointments to support the company’s growth and new market segments.

Gary Southwell, formerly the General Manager of IPTV multi-play solutions at Juniper Networks, joins BTI as Vice President of Solutions Marketing, supporting the company’s growing business for video solution build-outs. Gary brings over 20 years of experience driving companies into new markets, most recently at Juniper Networks where he secured market acceptance for the company’s centralized IPTV routing and service delivery model. Prior to Juniper, Gary was Vice President of Marketing at Ciena Corporation and Internet Photonics. Gary was a Metro Ethernet Forum officer and founding member, and has held positions at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks and Motorola ISG.

Peter Dale, formerly Vice President of Cable Business Divisions for Ciena Corporation and Internet Photonics, joins BTI as Vice President Business Development. Peter brings 18 years of experience with a proven track record of introducing new technology applications and driving OEM and direct-to-enterprise sales. Prior to BTI, Peter was Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Optovia. Peter has a broad range of sales experience at companies including Narad Networks, Spring Tide Networks, Lucent Technologies, and Bay Networks.
