LONDON -– Nexagent, provider of MPLS IP-VPN Interconnect services, today announced the appointment of Phil Burchell as VP of Sales. He will report directly to Nexagent CEO, Royce Murphy.

Phil joins from Energis where he held senior management positions including MD of Strategic Solutions and Director of Systems Integrators, Outsourcers & Government divisions. He played a key leadership role during his time at Energis, which included a period during Energis’ restructuring. Under Phil’s leadership revenues in the Systems Integrator channel grew by over 50 per cent and Energis was awarded the Government Secure Intranet (GSI) network contract.

Prior to Energis, Phil spent several years at Cable and Wireless plc (C&W) in a variety of roles, including senior VP of EMEA and Acting President of Global Markets with responsibility for C&W’s top 250 multi-national customers. He had also been MD Corporate Markets & Business Sales Director UK & Europe when he held overall sales & service responsibility for both UK & European sales channels with a combined revenue responsibility of £1billion.

Phil’s appointment further boosts Nexagent’s sales and marketing push to meet the needs of the enterprise market through its solution partners. Nexagent is not a carrier, integrator or virtual network operator, but works with solution providers to rapidly and cost-effectively create seamless customised IP-VPN solutions by selecting and interconnecting the preferred national, regional or global MPLS carriers for each site.

Royce Murphy, CEO of Nexagent, commenting on Burchell’s appointment, said: “Phil joins Nexagent at a particularly exciting time. We have our production service in operation and demand for IP-VPN interconnection in Europe, the USA and Asia is accelerating. With a proven track record in business development and growing sales across many different sectors in the telecoms industry, Phil will be a great asset to the management team in helping to grow our customer base further.”
