BANGALORE, India and MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Narus, Inc., the leader in providing IP network security and traffic monitoring to telecom carriers and governments around the world, announced today that it has opened a new development center as part of its existing subsidiary in Bangalore, India. The office, inaugurated today, June 8, will be the central location for Narus' India-based software development, sustaining engineering, customer support and quality assurance teams. Additionally, the new center will serve as a sales office for the region. Narus also has a development center based in Mountain View, Calif.

In July 2005, Narus complemented its subsidiaries in the United Kingdom and China with its new Indian subsidiary in Bangalore, housing contractors previously located in several different development centers. An increased focus around India's available engineering expertise has led Narus to convert a significant number of these positions to full-time employees.

"India is a strategic location for Narus' long-term success," said Murali Sitaram, Narus' vice president of engineering. "Not only is it a rapidly growing market for our products, but it also affords access to a large, highly educated pool of engineers who have domain expertise in bringing these innovative products to market quickly and more cost effectively. This expertise, along with our state-of-the-art facility in India, will complement product development efforts at our headquarters in Mountain View, Calif."
