UTICA, N.Y. –– NetTest, a leading worldwide provider of testing, monitoring and management solutions for advanced and converged networks, today introduced yet another feature enhancement to its CMA 5000 Gigabit Ethernet tester.

The CMA 5000 Gigabit Ethernet tester can now dramatically speed up RFC testing. Measurements that normally took hours can now be accomplished in a matter of minutes or seconds. Testing setup has also been simplified. In the past, users measuring throughput needed to repeat tests, redefining resolution each time in order to determine the point of failure; however, with NetTest’s latest enhancements, users can now tell the CMA 5000 at what line rate to start and stop the test and what resolution to test for. Resolutions can be set to 100, 10, 1 Mbps or 100 kbps or 10 kbps, adding the ability to accurately test the throughput of Gigabit Ethernet over SONET or SDH links with concatenated virtual tributaries or circuits. Answers are returned automatically via an intuitive summary screen which includes: Frame Size, Latency, Frame Loss and Throughput.

“These latest enhancements to our Gigabit Ethernet application reinforce NetTest’s commitment to bringing our customers the best solutions possible for testing their Gigabit Ethernet networks,” said Lars Pedersen, Vice President and General Manager, NetTest.
