MILPITAS, Calif. -- MUSIC Semiconductors, Inc. addresses the needs of the market for faster packet header processing with the introduction of the MUAD16K136, the first member of the Harmony Ternary CAM (Content Addressable Memory) product family. MUSIC continues over a decade of CAM innovation with these fast look-up table devices that support wide ternary (0,1, don’t care) packet search elements necessary for advanced networking and communications applications. Lee Goldberg, Senior Technology Editor for Chip Center on-line magazine (www.chipcenter.com) said, “MUSIC is leveraging their long expertise in delivering high performance general purpose CAMs.” He explained, “Their ternary CAMs eliminate search steps and provide the flexibility for complex search techniques as packets are more thoroughly examined for content. As data flows and pipelines become regulated to guarantee a minimum rate, deep packet analysis and classification will be critical to resolve QoS issues.” Mr. Goldberg cited the product’s inherent benefit as, “…MUSIC’s Harmony devices will help designers address the needs of subscribers who are going one step further in anticipating future bandwidth requirements.” Music Semiconductors Inc.
