Motorola Names EMEA Boss

SLOUGH, U.K. -- Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) has announced that Kevin Loosemore has been named President of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), replacing Fred Kuznik, who retired in June. Kevin joined Motorola in June of this year from IBM, where he was Chairman and Chief Executive of IBM United Kingdom. In his new role, Kevin will have responsibility for growing Motorola's business in the region. Motorola has been operating in Europe, Middle East & Africa for more than 30 years, employing 21,000 employees in more than 40 countries. With 21 research and development centres and 9 manufacturing facilities, the company is one of the region's largest telecommunications and electronics companies. In 2000, the EMEA region represented 22% of Motorola's total revenues. Speaking about his appointment, Kevin said "I am delighted to be taking on this role at what is a challenging time for our industry.
