Petter Furberg to head Telenor Myanmar

FORNEBU, Norway -- Telenor Group has appointed Petter Furberg as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telenor Myanmar, effective from when the company receives formal approval from the relevant Myanmar authorities. Mr. Furberg comes from the position as Chief Financial Officer of Thailand's second-largest mobile operator, dtac, of which Telenor is a majority shareholder. He will be responsible for the rapid roll out of modern telecommunications network and services to the benefit of the entire Myanmar population.
