Sprint's network in Chicago shares 1st place rankings for overall performance, network reliability, call performance and text performance.
June 13, 2016
Sprint today announced that its network in Chicago received shared 1st place rankings for overall performance, network reliability, call performance and text performance, according to a new RootScore® Report by independent mobile analytics firm RootMetrics®.
This marks the first time Sprint has won or shared the overall RootScore award in Chicago. Sprint also shares the Call Performance RootScore award for the second consecutive test period and shares the Text Performance RootScore award for the fourth consecutive test period in Chicago.
RootMetrics drove a total of 5,444 miles and conducted 82,057 tests in Chicago. During testing RootMetrics was able to experience Sprint’s carrier aggregation technology on the 2.5GHz spectrum band. This feature of Sprint’s super-fast LTE Plus Network creates a wider lane that allows more network traffic to travel at higher rates, enabling Sprint to provide Chicago customers with even faster data speeds.
In addition to deploying some of the most advanced technologies in wireless, Sprint has relentlessly focused on expanding and fine-tuning the network in Chicago. In the past year, the company added new cell sites, increased its coverage and capacity, and systematically optimized each cell site to maximize performance. Sprint also improved service and upgraded the wireless systems at Chicago Transit Authority, O’Hare Airport, Soldier Field and United Center.
