Data rate, size, performance and power efficiency are optimized for broadcast video routing and production switcher applications

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (AMEX:MND), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for network infrastructure applications, today announced the industry's first 72x72 and 144x144 crosspoint switches optimized for broadcast video applications. The new devices are based on Mindspeed's advanced switch architecture designed for high-speed optical networking applications, and are the company's first products targeted at the broadcast video market. By applying its expertise in developing high-speed, cost-effective network products, Mindspeed is expanding into adjacent markets with solutions for new applications. "In extending our product line to support the unique requirements of the rapidly-emerging broadcast video market segment, we now offer the industry's most complete digital switching product family for any asynchronous application," said Tom Kapucija, senior product line manager for Mindspeed.
