AMSTERDAM -- Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc., (MFN) (Nasdaq:MFNX), the leader in deployment of optical IP Internet infrastructure within key metropolitan areas internationally, and its subsidiary AboveNet Communications, have unveiled Dublin as the next market in MFN's continued expansion of its high-speed, highly reliable IP network in Europe. The Dublin ISX facility is scheduled to be opened in mid-2001 and MFN will have operational ISX facilities in Paris and Amsterdam by the end of 2000. London, Frankfurt and Vienna are already home to operational MFN ISX facilities. All the ISXs have highly resilient, fully redundant environments integrated into MFN's metropolitan area fiber-optic network, providing customers with end-to-end optical infrastructure.

"This European expansion underscores our commitment to deliver the infrastructure needed to provide the best Internet experience possible to our European and international business customers," said Nick Tanzi, president and COO of Metromedia Fiber Network. "In Europe, as in North America, we are bringing together all the necessary elements of massive capacity, intelligent routing, and unmatched peering relationships to ensure that we have the best performing, most scaleable network in the market."
