Woodrow Cannon replaces Marty Kaplan, who served as the company’s CEO since June of 2001

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Kestrel Solutions is pleased to announce the addition of Woodrow Cannon as President and CEO. Mr. Cannon replaces Marty Kaplan, who served as the company’s CEO since June of 2001. Mr. Kaplan will continue to be actively involved with Kestrel as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Cannon will also serve on the Board of Directors.“This is a great opportunity to join an extremely talented team that has developed one of the most reliable and cost-effective solutions in the optical transport sector,” remarked Mr. Cannon. “2002 will present many key opportunities for Kestrel. The company is poised to move from early revenue status to long-term fulfillment of its business plan. Marty has done an incredible job preparing the organization for this journey.” During Mr. Kaplan’s tenure as CEO, Kestrel Solutions completed a major RBOC contract, moved from pre-revenue status to revenue production, re-focused its product and technology strategies, and realigned its spending to reflect the current economic climate.In his most recent position as President and CEO of Mariposa Technology in Petaluma, California, Mr. Cannon lead an acquisition of Mariposa by Marconi Communications. Previously Mr. Cannon served as President and COO of Digital Transmission Systems (DTS) in Norcross, Georgia. Under his tenure, he returned the company to profitability after 14 consecutive losing quarters.Prior to working with DTS Mr. Cannon was Vice President of Marketing at BellSouth Communications Systems. He has also held positions with Motorola, AT&T and IBM, and has achieved a total of over 20 years of management in the telecommunications industry.Kestrel Solutions Inc.
