Ikanos Adds VPs

Ikanos has named Dean Westman as General Manager and Rakinder Grover as Vice President of Business Development

FREMONT, Calif. -- Ikanos Communications (Nasdaq: IKAN), a global leader in broadband access semiconductors, today announced that it has named Dean Westman as General Manager and Rakinder Grover as Vice President of Business Development. Mr. Westman is a veteran of the semiconductor industry and brings over 25 years of diverse marketing, sales, engineering and operations experience to Ikanos. Mr. Grover joins Ikanos with 17 years of experience in business development, venture capital, management consulting and engineering.

Prior to joining Ikanos, Mr. Westman served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Mathstar, Inc., where he was responsible for creating and executing a global product strategy. Previously, Mr. Westman served as Vice President of Marketing at C-Cube Microsystems, where he managed the product roadmap of the Broadband Networks Division. Mr. Westman also spent 15 years at LSI Logic, where he served in sequential management roles, including Vice President of Operations for the company's consumer division. He holds B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Minnesota.

Prior to joining Ikanos as Vice President of Business Development, Mr. Grover had been a business development consultant at the Company and was instrumental in Ikanos' acquisition of the broadband product lines from Analog Devices, Inc. Previously Mr. Grover was a General Partner at the venture capital firm of Walden International, where he invested in telecom, semiconductor and IT infrastructure startups. His experience also includes management consulting at Gemini Consulting and engineering roles at Hewlett Packard. Mr. Grover holds a B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi in India, a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
