GigX Deploys Sorrento GigaMux

HOUSTON and SAN DIEGO -- GigX Communications has deployed the GigaMux Metro DWDM from Sorrento Networks (Nasdaq:FIBR - news) in its 2.5 Gbps (gigabit per second) networks in Houston and Austin, Texas, and will deploy additional GigaMux platforms as it expands to a 10Gbps (OC-192) network. GigaMux is a dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transport system that provides reliable, multi-protocol transmission on up to 64 wavelengths.
