ATLANTA -- Wave7 Optics Inc., a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home or -premises (FTTH/FTTP) equipment for residential and business services, today announced that Link3 Technologies Ltd., a leading data services provider, has selected the Trident7 Optical Access Platform for a new FTTP network serving the Dhaka Metropolitan City area.

Link3 will cover residential customers in the city's metro areas with a high-speed internet, data only service before the end of this year. The company is moving to a full-fledged triple play offering of internet, VOIP and VOD in mid-2007. By the end of 2008, Link3 will connect potential residential & business subscribers with triple play - data, video and voice services all over the capital city of Dhaka in Bangladesh ultimately serving tens of thousands of subscribers.

The Trident7 is the industry's most advanced and flexible FTTP platform, as it delivers standards-based EPON and GPON technologies in the same platform, which allows service providers to cost-effectively deliver a much broader array of services, as compared to other access network technologies. Link3's own fiber optic backbone, which covers the entire City area, enables the company to provide the most extensive FTTP network in the country. Current services, provided to most of the country's leading banks and businesses, include high-speed Internet, intranet connectivity for enterprises and dark fiber leasing.

"We selected Wave7 Optics as the best fibre to the user solution in the industry," said Sajjid Pasha, Managing Director, Link3 Technologies Ltd. "We started the deployment process last February and nothing has changed to alter our assessment of the Wave7 Optics' solution. In addition to supplying us with an efficient and cost-effective suite of products, they have provided us with a level of product and network rollout support above all expectations."

"A key criterion for Link3 was to ensure that the investment made today would pay dividends in the coming years and the Trident7 provides that assurance as it supports today's and tomorrow's standards-based PON architectures," said Sanjay Gupta, Asia-Pacific Regional Director for Wave7 Optics. "The Trident7 provides substantial advantages to operators when it comes to initial capital outlays, system integration and minimal disruption to ongoing operations and outside plant during times of network expansion."
