SANTA ROSA, Calif. -- TriAccess Technologies announced today that it has signed a multi-year supply agreement with LuminentOIC, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MRV Communications (Nasdaq: MRVC - News), to supply radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) used in fiber-to-the-home, next-generation Gigabit Passive Optical Networks (GPON). TriAccess will supply LuminentOIC with the latest version of its TAT6254 series RFIC, which integrates multiple RF amplifiers on a single chip and provides superior high gain and low noise performance that is ideal for end- of-line fiber networks. LuminentOIC plans to incorporate the TriAccess 6254 RFIC in triplexer transceivers installed within Optical Network Terminals (ONTs).

LuminentOIC will be the lead customer for the next product release in the TriAccess TAT6254 product series for GPON applications, and has committed to purchase significant volume of this device. In addition, as part of this agreement, for all BPON applications, LuminentOIC has attained exclusive rights to the TAT6254 product series. LuminentOIC has been the dominant supplier of BPON triplexers to the North American market, with over 1.3 Million triplexers shipped, and has leveraged this market leadership into the North American GPON deployment, with over 100,000 units shipped to date.

"We are pleased to be working with the leader in triplexer transceiver deployments," said Chris Day, president of TriAccess Technologies. "With LuminentOIC's RF implementation expertise and design-for-manufacturing experience, we see a strong synergy between our firms as they use our IC solution."
