RESTON, Va. -- Jost Spielvogel, a senior executive in Siemens AG’s information and communications management team, has been named chief executive officer (CEO) of Optisphere Networks Inc., a subsidiary formed in April 2000 by the global electronics and engineering giant to hyper-focus on the optical networking market. In addition, Spielvogel announced that Optisphere has completed staffing its executive management team by naming its chief operating officer (COO) and chief technology officer (CTO).

Thomas Mader, a former vice president with Lucent Technologies, has joined the company as president and COO. Roy Koelbl, former vice president and network infrastructure officer at Teleglobe, has been named vice president and CTO. They join John Beagley, senior vice president for marketing and sales, and John Davidson, vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), on the company’s senior leadership team.

“The executive team is now complete, and we are continuing to recruit a diverse group of talented people to fill new positions in our company,” said Spielvogel.
