WALTHAM, Mass. -- Sockeye Networks(TM) has enhanced its flagship GlobalRoute(SM) service with a newly developed global data feed, Sockeye announced today. The GlobalRoute data feed sets a new standard in the industry for accuracy, coverage and scalability, and allows fine-grained routing control not possible with alternative approaches.Global topology data enables the Sockeye Networks GlobalRoute service to proactively determine alternate best-cost, best-performance routes for Internet protocol (IP) traffic. To generate the data feed, Sockeye-developed software analyzes raw data collected from an infrastructure of geographically diverse servers. This patent-pending software allows the GlobalRoute service to accurately determine the performance of available paths before rerouting IP traffic. For customers this will mean even greater performance improvements and more granular cost-based balancing decisions."After much research, our scientists have discovered and developed a data feed that enables Sockeye to provide an even better service, using capabilities unique to the route optimization space," said Valeri Marks, chairman and CEO of Sockeye Networks. "We are confident that unique innovations like this and sales partnerships with industry leaders like Akamai will ensure that Sockeye Networks continues to be the leader in the emerging route optimization market."Sockeye Networks
