AUSTIN, Texas and VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- OnFiber, a leading provider of metro optical solutions, and fSONA Communications, a leading provider of optical wireless solutions, announced today their plans to offer customers solutions that include fSONA's SONAbeam(TM) optical wireless technology.

"OnFiber's ability to respond to customer needs quickly is a key component of our success. fSONA's wireless solution is an important tool for OnFiber in cases where we need to extend the network but cost or geography prohibit the use of fiber infrastructures," said Michael Guess, chief operating officer of OnFiber. "In addition to being quick and economical to deploy, SONAbeam's optical wireless technology has the bandwidth potential to maximize the benefits of OnFiber's metro networks."

fSONA's optical wireless systems provides carrier-class availability giving service providers like OnFiber a highly effective option to reliably extend their network to remote customer locations. fSONA's advanced technology is virtually impossible to intercept making it secure to the standards of government, military and corporate entities.

"Wireless solutions based on optical technology are able to transmit at very high bandwidths -- up to 2.5 Gbps -- that exceed traditional wireless capabilities making them ideal for extending high-speed fiber optic networks," says Theresa Carbonneau, president and chief executive officer of fSONA. "OnFiber has established metro networks in key areas that can be rapidly extended with fSONA's solution for broadband access. Working together, fSONA and OnFiber quickly respond to customer demands."
