Nokia expands family of network security platforms with high-end Nokia IP2250 and IP1220 appliances

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Nokia (NYSE:NOK) today announced the high-end expansion of its family of high performance network security platforms with the addition of Nokia IP2250 and Nokia IP1220. The new security platforms are designed to easily handle the increased high-volume traffic levels of larger sized enterprise, service provider and data center sites. Nokia IP2250 and IP1220 provide improved return on investment by packing more power into a compact platform without sacrificing the security, network integrity and the high availability IT professionals require. The new offerings combine competitive pricing, performance and management capabilities to deliver the strongest and most reliable security platforms on the market today.

Nokia IP2250 and Nokia IP1220 are "Secured by Check Point" appliances and incorporate the Check Point SecureXL 2.1 API from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP). They are tightly integrated with Nokia's newest IPSO(TM) 3.8 secure operating system (see separate press release) on Nokia's purpose-built hardware platform. Working together, the companies are helping to ensure Nokia IP2250 and IP1220 are meeting the stringent, global enterprise requirements of today and tomorrow.
