CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- NextNine, Inc., maker of NextNine(TM) Support, the leading product service software infrastructure for the telecom/datacom industry, today announced that Thomas C. ("TC") Browne has been named as its new CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Browne was formerly CEO of NaviPath Inc. and has over twenty years of management experience in the telecommunications industry. NextNine's co-founder and present CEO Eldad Maniv remains with the company as executive vice president of software products. NextNine also announced that Sanjiv Ahuja of Redwood Ventures has been appointed to the firm's board of directors, effective immediately. Mr. Ahuja replaced Redwood's Deepak Natarajan on NextNine's board. "I am delighted to hand over the reins to such a seasoned telecommunications industry leader and re-immerse myself in bringing new products to market that address real customer needs and deliver tangible results," said Eldad Maniv. "Our flagship product NextNine Support has gained considerable momentum within the industry's top companies in the past few months, and it stands ready to change the way network devices are serviced and supported. With TC taking day-to-day operational responsibility and me focusing on the product set, NextNine is well-positioned to seize a significant share of a new market opportunity." TC Browne has a proven record of leadership and over twenty-five years of success building businesses in a variety of high tech markets. As CEO of Navipath (formerly of CMGI), he grew the company from a small development effort employing 12 people, into a company of 260 employees with almost $50 million in annualized revenues in just 18 months. Prior to Navipath, Mr. Browne was senior vice president and general manager of BBN Internetwork Technologies, where he more than doubled revenues to over $100 million in two years and created a strategic partnership that developed and marketed the fastest IP router then available.
