Menlo Unveils SSL VPN Developments

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Menlo Logic, the leading developer of SSL VPN software for network equipment manufacturers, today announced the availability of AccessPoint Virtual Passage, an SSL VPN Client for Windows, and a high performance HTTP reverse proxy with full JavaScript support.

AccessPoint Virtual Passage provides secure remote access to all network resources, including TCP and UDP applications. Virtual Passage reduces administrative costs and deployment time by enabling users to securely connect to a remote network by downloading a web plug-in from the SSL VPN portal. Users avoid the installation and configuration issues of traditional VPN clients because the web plug-in downloads and installs transparently on all Windows 2000 and XP machines.

Enhanced HTTP Reverse Proxy

Web based applications have catapulted the growth of SSL VPN technology. More and more resources, from email to corporate databases to employee and human resources information are available over the web. Therefore, it is not surprising that many companies want to provide secure remote access to these web applications from a standard web browser rather than manage IPSec VPN client installation and configuration.

However, to securely proxy data to Intranet web sites, all URLs within HTML, JavaScript, VBScript, and XML content must be rewritten. Because of the complexity of translating this data quickly and accurately, Menlo Logic has introduced a new reverse proxy that uses patent-pending technology to rewrite and interpret HTML content. The improved AccessPoint reverse proxy translates all web content, including JavaScript and VBScript, and supports all web browsers and operating systems.

The AccessPoint SSL VPN Toolkit provides equipment vendors with a turnkey SSL VPN solution for products ranging from embedded networking devices to powerful, enterprise-class security appliances. The AccessPoint SSL VPN Toolkit supports Linux, Solaris and BSD operating systems and standard SSL acceleration hardware. Because of it portability, many equipment vendors can simply drop the AccessPoint SSL VPN software into their existing firewall or routing devices with minimal development or integration.
