Lucent Pushes on Enterprise OSS

Nineteen Lucent partners to sell VitalSuite, VitalQIP, and NavisRadius network management software to enterprises throughout Europe

DUBLIN -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) today announced that a group of 19 Lucent Business Partners are selling Lucent's market-leading network management software solutions to enterprise customers throughout Europe.

The Lucent software enables corporate information technology (IT) departments to monitor every aspect of network and application performance and to better manage their Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and networks, including those based on multi-vendor technologies. It also allows IT departments to enhance overall quality of service and reduce operating expenses, while providing carrier-class reliability, flexibility and scalability to enterprises.

The Lucent software portfolio includes VitalSuite(R) (network and application performance management), VitalQIP(TM) (IP address management) and NavisRadius Authentication, Authorisation, Accounting (AAA) Server.

Many of the Business Partners have been part of the Lucent programme for a number of years, while a few have joined more recently. Lucent will provide its partners with sales support and assistance from Lucent Worldwide Services to help meet end-user customers' service support needs.

Partners who are reselling the Vital portfolio include systems integrators and resellers from across Europe: Cable & Wireless (Netherlands), Comda (Israel), Cygate Maldata (Sweden), Dimension Data (BeLux), ete-hager ag (Switzerland), Ementor (Norway & Denmark), GENESIS COMMUNICATION (Switzerland), Knowware (UK) Landata Payma (Spain), Netlink (Netherlands), Netcor (Germany), N3k Informatik GmbH (Germany), Schoeller Network Control (Austria), SIA (Spain), Siemens A&D (Germany), Silicomp (France), TDB Networks (UK) and Telindus (Netherlands).

These companies offer pre-and post-sales support for the Lucent software solutions as well as professional services needed to install, manage and maintain the software.

VitalSuite(R) is a fully integrated, award-winning package of three software components, VitalNet(TM), VitalEvent(R) and VitalApps(TM). Together they monitor network and application performance and identify problems in real-time with easy-to-read advanced GUIs, customisable portal and advanced reporting capabilities.

VitalQIP(TM) is a software solution designed to automate IP address management and Domain Name System/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DNS/DHCP) services across the enterprise. VitalQIP(TM) helps to configure, automate, integrate and administer IP services across the entire network. The IP address management software solution improves reconfiguration time by more than 60 percent, which significantly reduces the time spent manually managing an IP infrastructure.

NavisRadius(TM) provides secure, highly scalable, full-featured AAA Server functionality. NavisRadius(TM) allows enterprises to provide security to their corporate networks, through advanced authentication and authorisation capabilities.
