Access Acquires IP Infusion

SAN JOSE, Calif. and TOKYO -- IP Infusion Inc., a leading provider of intelligent networking software for enhanced IP services, announced today that it has agreed to be acquired by ACCESS Co., Ltd., (TSE: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies. IP Infusion will become a wholly owned subsidiary of ACCESS after the completion of the acquisition, which is scheduled to close in early March, subject to approval by IP Infusion's shareholders. Savvian LLC acted as financial advisor to IP Infusion, while Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. advised ACCESS on the transaction.

IP Infusion provides a comprehensive set of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching and routing solutions for communications equipment vendors. Its product lines cover the majority of routing protocols used today including support for next- generation networking technologies such as IPv6 and MPLS. IP Infusion recently entered the home media server market, offering core networking software for home storage-equipped servers with Internet access.

Combining the two companies' strengths -- IP Infusion's intelligent networking software for IP services and ACCESS' mobile content delivery/Internet access technologies -- will allow ACCESS to extend its networking leadership and continue to aggressively provide new platforms for ubiquitous connectivity based on home gateways, home broadband, and 3G mobile phones.
