Hatteras Intros HN6100

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Hatteras Networks, theglobal leader in multi-service Ethernet solutions for enterprise access services and nextgenerationmobile backhaul, announced today the HN6100, a modular, multi-serviceplatform designed to enable carriers to offer any service, over any media from onecompact, ultra-dense chassis. The 40 Gbps, two-rack-unit HN6100 provides unique,simple and flexible support for the complete range of Ethernet business services andmobile backhaul in a pay-as-you-grow platform. This enables a carrier to simplifydeployment, integrate management and reduce its number of vendors.

The HN6100 supports Ethernet over Copper customer premise equipment (CPE) viaHatteras Networks’ HN400 Series, Ethernet over Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) andEthernet over NxT1/E1 via the new HN500 Series and TDM over Ethernet CPE via thenew HN600 Series with PWE3-plus, Hatteras Networks’ revolutionary, patented methodof simultaneously transporting native Ethernet and native TDM with embedded networktiming over the existing copper infrastructure for mobile backhaul solutions. (HatterasNetworks is announcing the HN500 Series and HN600 Series with PWE3-plus separatelytoday.) The same HN6100 multi-service chassis will also support Ethernet over Fiber inthe future.
